The Architects Studio Pty. Ltd. (TAS) was established as a Darwin based practice in 1994. The firm is committed to architecture that is both climatically and culturally appropriate, not only in the Northern Territory but also similar wet tropical and dry arid locations within the broader region in which we live.

What we do

Unreservedly we offer our clients the highest level of service possible, and this is provided by experienced registered architects that have a proven track record in delivering projects on time and on budget. Our works have been nationally recognized as 'representing best practice in the design for the whole of northern Australia'. TAS is a multi award RAIA award winner for architectural excellence and sustainable energy efficient design.

Since 2000 The Architects Studio has received 16 major awards for architectural excellence and sustainable design.

Architecture that ranges from single remote location houses, through group housing developments, sport and recreational facilities, schools, commercial, industrial, fit out and interiors, ratail, health, indigenous remote housing and heritage conservation.

What can we do for you

No project is too large or too small. We recommend TAS is engaged to provide a comprehensive architectural service from design through to construction contract management. However we are able to offer a partial service, depending on our clients' specific requirements. Talk to us and we can tailor our service to your needs and budget.

Specialist Expertise

In addition to over 35 years experience in delivering a very broad range of building types, TAS has specialist skills that have enabled us to provide services that go beyond those offered by traditional architectural practices and include consultancies such as:-

  • Research and development of 'Environmental Health Standards for Remote Communities in the Northern Territory'. A publication of the Northern Territory Government on building standards and healthy living facilities.
  • Post Occupancy Evaluation of Aboriginal Housing/Living spaces. In association with Queensland University, an economic, technical and social evaluation for ATSIC.
  • Tourist Strategy for the historic township of Pine Creek. Recommendations for the restoration, development and marketing of Pine Creek as a historical town and tourist destination (TAS Director Peter Fletcher is also a Conservation Architect and a former NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service Architect).
